Origin

Previously an average kid considering a career in engineering, Patrick gained his powers when a trinket at a rummage sale fused into his wrist. He only saw it for a split second, but he looked up some symbols later and he's pretty sure that the one for Mercury matched the design— which would make sense, considering what those powers were. He transferred to Coral Springs in hopes of getting a better handle on this strange new direction in his life.

Powers

• Super Speed: His primary power. He hasn't tested the upper limit, but he can reach 100 mph without breaking a sweat.
• Flight: He can focus some of his energy to counter gravity.
• Energy: This is where his building skills came in handy. Taking some tips from gadgeteers, he built a gauntlet that charges up while he's zooming and can fire beams of heat, electricity, or just kinetic force.

Quirks

• Non-Conservation of Momentum: While he can dodge just fine while zooming, hitting anything large enough (like another person) brings him right back to normal speed. A punch is thus no more powerful than usual, though it may certainly catch the target off guard.

• Short: Only about half a head shorter than most of his classmates, but that's a big deal when other students think "aren't you a bit short for a freshman". And he's not even a freshman! Not that there's anything wrong with them, but still.
