Coral Springs Courtyard Coral Springs
Wed Feb 03 21:54:11, 2021 — Wed Feb 03 18:54:11 2021

The path leads up the hill and into a large cobblestoned courtyard surrounded by four buildings. In the center of the courtyard is a greenspace, landscaped with flowers that spell out Coral Springs. In the center of the greenspace is a large statue, a memorial to the lives that were lost during the attack on the previous school. In the distance the tip of a lighthouse can ben seen. Between the buildings is a view of the ocean. It seems the school has been built on the tallest cliff of the island and has a lovely view of the open ocean to the southeast.

With the view between the buildings it almost seems like you can take to the skies and FLY. Maybe if you had wings, or some other way to FLY you could.

It is a winter night. The weather is freezing and fair.

It is probably no surprise that Sebastian wasn't dismissed from class merely because of some injuries. Armed with some over-the-counter painkillers, his left arm in a sling, and his ribcage wrapped up, he was told to attend classes. At some point he started working on the report but typing one-handed is slow-going. Dinner was also tricky, but he managed and is enjoying the evening air before he has to go inside for the night.

Marcus has been on a mission most of the day. The normally happy-go-lucky teenager has been touchy and grouchy most of the day. Lucky for him, his bruise was pretty much hidden under his shirt and melanin. There were some scratches on his cheek, but there's /usually/ scratches on him somewhere. But he's been in 'a mood' all day, and hasn't wanted to talk to anyone about it. Now, however, words will probably be exchanged.
Having spotted Sebastian sitting and thinking by himself, Marcus marched towards him. But, he didn't know how to bring anything up. So, instead, he stopped and detoured, disappearing off into the grounds for a few minutes. Returning, from several yards away, Marcus hurls a clump of mud in Sebastian's direction. Whether or not his mudball survives long enough to fly through the air and hit its intended target, though, isn't clear. In fact, it's pretty muddy.

<FS3> Sebastian rolls Alertness: Success.

Maybe it's the sense of someone watching him or the sound of mud hurtling throught the air, but Sebastian stands just before the mud might hit him. There's a glance at the wet dirt before he looks over in the direction it seemed to come from. "Seriously? Throwing mud at me?" There's a brief sniff…or was that poop that was collected earlier?

"Oh, so you /don't/ think it's a good idea just to attack at first sight?" Marcus asks, marching up to Sebastian, obviously pissed. "Gee, and here I thought that was exactly what you were supposed to do as soon as you saw somebody not even paying attention to you when you're supposed to be /scouting/." … yeah.

Sebastian closes his eyes and gives a little sigh, "I'm sorry, what? Try saying that again please." He turns to watch Marcus approach, "Are you just mad that you didn't get to touch one of those things? What if you went in and it gored you?"

"Oh, because that's /not/ what wound up happening, anyway?" Marcus responds, stopping a couple of feet away from Sebastian. "I was /so/ much safer after you pissed them off and they charged, since I was in /so/ much danger while they sat there, minding their own business, eating their dinner?" He then points and gestures with his finger. "/You/ are a jerk, an idiot, and don't deserve to be on Prometheus, much less on any missions ever again until you pull your gosh darn head out of your uptight butthole!"

"So, let me get this straight," Sebastian offers, tucking a hand under his slinged arm since he can't really cross his arms right now. "You're mad at me because you didn't get to do what -you- wanted to do? Even if it could have cause more harm than what I did…Got it." He does give a slight roll of his eyes, "Well, you don't get to make those decisions, do you? I'm sure you can suggest it to the teachers, but it's not your call."

"NO, you dumbass! I'm mad because /you/ did what you wanted to do and it got the both of us /hurt/!" Marcus shouts. "I mean, /jeez/! What kind of self-centered, narsissy (sic- he doesn't know all the best words), idiot /are/ you!?" And at this point, Marcus starts pacing. "You don't get to turn this around and say it has /anything/ to do with me. I wasn't even /there/ when you decided to pop off and start shooting at stuff you didn't understand. You didn't have any idea what effect it would have, you didn't warn anybody, you didn't do /ANYTHING/ right! You know, you'd think having been arrested for whatever you did, maybe you'd learn to think before you do stupid stuff. Or do you just have a death wish? Because you just about got us killed! I mean, even /I'm/ smart enough to not put anybody /else/ at risk when I'm gonna do something dangerous!"

"They are sending in -fourteen year olds- to a place overrun with extra-dimensional dinosaurs. And you think -that- is a good idea? I know you want to see dinosaurs, but they aren't the animatronic ones at theme parks. They're real and they'll eat you. Well, not the cow ones." Since they were herbivores. "If you think that all of that is ok, why are you mad at me that your life was potentially in danger? It was in danger just by going there."

That tears it. Marcus has had enough. He takes the pair of steps it takes to close the distance between himself and Sebastian, reaching out to attempt and grab him by his shirt so he could pull him closer. The yelling from a distance wasn't getting through, maybe it'll be more effective if he gets in his face. Because /that/ always convinces people.

Sebastian recognizes that sort of approach and he takes a step or two back, holding out his good hand, his hair turning silver and his eyes that ice blue that happens when he uses his powers. "Don't," is warned quietly. "Don't do it." First of all, they're both injured. Secondly, they'd get into a -lot- of trouble.

"I'm mad at /you/ because my life wasn't being threatened until /you/ decided you had to go shooting stuff." And that's when Marcus pulls his fist back, intent on punching Sebastian.

< Net Result: Marcus wins - Solid Victory

"You're naive if you think that on an island full of creatures that -killed- people!" Sebastian points out. He shifts his weight to be better prepared as he sees the other pulling his fist back. "And you think this is the answer…beating me up when I'm already injured? Real mature."

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Marcus=physical Vs Sebastian=energy
< Marcus: Great Success Sebastian: Success
< Net Result: Marcus wins - Solid Victory

"Naieve /this/!" Marcus says, and punches for Sebastian's face. Nevermind the fact that he studies martial arts and knows that the face is full of bones that are just as liable to hurt his hand as he is to hurt Sebastian. And of course, there will be consequences, let alone reprecussions. But, Marcus isn't thinking about that anymore.

Sebastian tries to lift his hand in self-defence, but the punch gets through, snapping his head to the side and causing him to stagger, barely catching himself from falling to the ground. His hand frosts over and his breath comes out in a plume, but no cold energy is shot at the other despite the power being 'on'. Ice blue eyes, however, are cold as he looks to Marcus, "Does that make you feel better then? Beating me up because you didn't get your way? Is that what heroes do, huh?" He finds his balance and takes a few more steps back, in hopes to get out of immediate arm's reach.

Marcus balls up his other hand and draws it back, ready to follow up, but then he stops. Cocks it again, and again pauses. Then, he shakes his head and laughs. Once. Twice, then actually laughs, before wincing and grabbing his ribs. "Gosh. Here I thought you were so cool, and I really thought maybe I could learn from you. Turns out? You are just really, /really/ dumb. I dunno if you can't or you just /won't/ get it. But, man. I was so mad at you, until you just made me realize that I shouldn't be mad at you. I dunno if you got dropped or what, but you're so stupid, you're not even worth being mad at." He shakes his head and rubs his knuckles, shaking his hand out a little. "But, yeah. I /do/ feel better, now. Just sucks it took getting mad enough to hit you to realize you're not worth it." He then throws up a peace sign. "Guess I'll see you in detention." And then he turns around to walk back towards the dorms.

"Sticks and stones, man…think whatever you want of me, I don't need your approval. I know who I am. Who the Hell are you?" is offered as he watches the would-be assailant. "I didn't touch you. I'm not the one who will be in detention." There's a wince as he straightens, his hand going to the side that's been taped up. "I hate teenagers…" is muttered as he moves towards the Patio to calm down before returning back to the dorm himself.

<FS3> Marcus rolls Awareness-1: Failure.

"I'm not somebody that gets his teammates hurt on a /scouting/ mission!" Marcus calls back as he walks off. He doesn't argue with the comment about detention and he doesn't hear the comment about teenagers.

"No, you just bully them afterwards!" Sebastian calls back on his way to the Patio. But ow, that hurt…taking deep breaths isn't very comfortable at the moment.
