Scene in Progress

The volunteers gathered early in the morning before breakfast on the back patio as instructed. Already waiting was the Headmaster, wearing the staff mission uniform, only on his were slotted glowing orbs, three on one arm, two on the other, and the tall White Witch, with sleepy eyed toddler in her arms. Most of Unit 23 has gathered, and one teen girl who does not attend the school. Unit 23 is in there Fatigue Uniforms, the girl is in What appears to be a body suite, but not that of the school uniforms. All students going are required to wear their team uniforms.

Once all the student volunteers were assembled the Headmaster gave a short speech about the goals of the mission. There would be three groups. One group would go after the piece of Besa’s heart. The second group would find the resurrection ritual, Intel says it’s books, but be aware it could also be scrolls. The third group, if it is necessary, would be crowd control, blocking off the stairs and elevators to the hotel floor to prevent staff and backup from sneaking up on the other two groups. He goes on to suggest that each group is a team and should act as such, watch each others backs and don’t take any unnecessary risks.

As he is talking the White Witch set about to casting, some magical incantations and touching the door leading into the mansion, there is a surge of magic as the spell goes off. Where the door once was is now just the view of a well lit stair well. On the wall in large letters is painted ‘32nd Floor’, stairs lead both up and down. The tall woman then begins guiding the volunteer students through, the toddler, now fully awake and watching the students pass with curiosity, until Besa, the last one to go through passes by. Seeing the nervous looking Besa, the young girl flails an arm out at him and shouts an adamant ‘No go Bass-ah! Nappie time!’ in her baby voice, those sensing magic would feel another powerful surge just as a surprised Besa’s eyes roll back and he collapses to the ground at the school and the magical wormhole slams closed.

Bryce wasn't exactly how much help he would be; however, he figured that it makes more sense for him to go for the book. He could swiftly scan through the books if necessay and retain the information. While he is wearing the school uniform, he has also triggered the thinnest version of his armor which fits underneath the uniform.

Sometimes one must do what one must. When they asked for people to volunteer to help with helping Besa, Ronan volunteered pretty rapidly. He was dressed in the Athenian League's uniform, the white and red stark against him. He was trying his best to remain calm right now, even though his stomach was full of butterflies from being nervous. There was something about this that made him way more nervous than fighting Draugr.

<FS3> Rain rolls Multiplicity: Failure.

It was hard to tell if it was Rain or Legion that was the one that stepped through the magic wormhole. Whoever it was claimed in was Legion, but only her brother would know for sure. Which ever it is she is dressed in the Athena uniform as well, the telescopic truncheons in the harness at the small of her back. She isn't surprised about what happened to Besa and just moves along through the door out into the hallway "I'll go first." she volunteers, sounding a little to eager to get this started. Her hands go to her weapons and she pulls them out, hitting the triggers so they extend with a satisfying clicking noise.

Schuyler gives a little start when Besa suddenly collapses and he moves to make sure that the teen is ok before quickly going towards the wormhole. He says nothing about whether he is joining Rain or Legion but he does pause to give Circe a quick kiss on the forehead before stepping through after her. He has no weapons and is dressed in the Team Ares 'super-suit', much to his chagrin. His hair has been braided back out of the way and he tries to open his mind to search out other mental presences as they move through the wormhole to the new location. It's his job, he figures, to 'scout' ahead some.

<FS3> Rain rolls 6: Success.

As the group goes through the door and out into the hallway they split up, one going to start searching rooms in on direction, the other group goes the other way. There are lots of minds to sense. On this floor and the ones above and below. It seems though that the priests must have sensed the magic at work because as the group gets to the end of the hall, several rush out of one of the rooms to the left. There is shouting amoungst them, but it isn't in English. Two have weapons and move to intercept while the others hang back, one starts to wave his hands about and chant, while the last one seems to blur and shrink seemingly starting to shapeshift into a large crocodile.

< Bryce: Good Success Fpriest: Good Success

< Net Result: DRAW

Bryce follows behind Rain. This is quite different than when they met in the kitchen. He glances to her weapons and wonders if he should get his ready. As soon as the shouting starts, Bryce's circlet flashes. It is definitely time to get his weapon ready. Gulp. A thin cyan beam emerges from his head and creates the katana than he is the best at making. He mumbles, "No scissors." He sees the ones with weapons approaching and steps to the side of Rain to give her some coverage. His katana, still floating in the air, flashes forward and locks against the blade of one of the warriors.

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Ronan=physical Vs Crockpriest=6

< Ronan: Good Success Crockpriest: Good Success

Crocodiles Priests? Yeah. Ok. That doesn't sound very good. Ronan tries to make for tiny shards of ice to hit the evil priests. Common on? Creatures that look like they're crocodiles, but are priests? They got to be evil incarnate? Who else but an evil god would be using the missing links between sapiens and reptile? Unfortunately for poor Ronan, his aim isn't quite what it should be and he ends up missing the beasties entirely, even if it was only by a hair. There's a bit of a soft swear under his breath in Gaelic. Something to do with their mothers.

The blonde Masters girl, be it Rain or Legion, doesn't hesitate she rushes forward swinging the truncheons around as if they were swords in her hands. She freints left but the priest seems to realize that is what she is doing and doesn't fall for it. The real attack is caught in the curve of the Priests khophesh and with a twist the truncheon is torn from her grasp and sent flying to land down the hallway.

Schuyler was going to go after the mage…after all, one should always take out the magic-users first, right? They can wreak so much havoc! But when his sister (or her doppleganger) goes after the fighter and she gets disarmed, he quickly shifts his focus there. He tries to duck into a shadow while he tries to dim the fighting priest's sight so he can't continue fighting Rain/Legion!

As the fight between the priests and the students get underway the blaring, high pitched noise of the fire alarm starts to go off, the lights near the ceiling that are supposed to guide escapees through smoke filled halls begin to strobe. This turns out to be the soundtrack and the SFX for the scene.

The priest is taken aback only for a moment as the sword manifests and gets caught in his curved khophesh, it is only a matter of a quick motion though to free it and he is swinging it at Bryce using the flat of it instead of the sharp edge to give a blow to the boys side.

And it is the biggest Crocodile ever…Werecroc…Dire Croc…both names would be fitting. It charges on four legs at Ronan, turning at the last minute to swing its tail at the tall Irish teen, but with the hallway being, well hallway size he isn't able to use the whole of the tale so Ronan is fortunate in it missing.

The priest fighting Rain/Legion has a triumphant look on his face, that quickly turns to confusion as his vision begins to darken. He swings his khophesh and the teen girl but she is able to catch the swing with the weapon she still has.

The chanting of the magical priest stops and he makes a final motion with his hands toward Sky. The spell is cast, its intent to cause mental confusion as a mental fogginess begins to creep into his brain looking for places in him mind to get a hold of.

Bryce is surprised when the priest's sword slips under his own. "Wait, um … " Whatever he was going to say is ended as the blow hits against his side with a loud clank. Even though he had his armor active that still hurt. He blinks a couple times and holds his side which thankfully doesn't effect his floating katana. He suddenly wishes that he would have read a few books on swordplay. He redirects his sword back towards the priest who has to pull his own blade back to deflect.

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Ronan=physical Vs Crockpriest=6

< Ronan: Success Crockpriest: Success

< Net Result: DRAW

"Ye be a really ugly beastie." Ronan says looking at the Werecroc and grinning as he keeps himself moving. The hallway might be a hallway, but standing still is like asking to get hurt badly. Unfortunately, keeping moving also makes it a little bit more challenging for the blond Irish teen to actually HIT them. Amazing considering how big the target was and it doesn't seem to be putting in a shiny happy mood. "Ye all be a bunch of bastards. Are ye wearing underwear that's too tight?"

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Rain=physical Vs FPriest=6 -1

< Rain: Great Success FPriest: Success

< Net Result: Rain wins - Crushing Victory

Rain can sense that Sky is doing something, but she isn't sure what or to who..though she begins to suspect when the priest she is fighting gets a bit wild with his swings »>Thanks Sky.«< she mentally sends to him without taking her attention from the priest in front of her. Mental speech with her twin is just as easy as verbal speech would be to anyone else.

At one of the swings Rain blocks it with her truncheon right before she drops it. Her other arm shoots out to grab his and she uses his own momentum to pull him forward as she bends at the hip and twists, her other hand grabs him and one moment he is standing looking a bit surprised and the next he is being thrown over her back and hip and is slammed hard into the floor…if it were for the blaring fire alarm everyone would probably hear the painful snap of bone as something on him breaks. And this is the real reason she is scary.

<FS3> Schuyler rolls Psychic: Amazing Success.

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Sky=Psychic Vs MPriest=3

Schuyler doesn't hear the klaxon sirens, but he can see the flashing lights and frowns. But then there's something in his mind trying to cause confusion? Oh, HELL no! No one gets in his head! Not after Circe-In-Utero messed with it! Sky glances at Rain at her mental 'thanks' but then he's mentally shoving that spell back to the Mage-Priest with his own added blast of mental energy. It's not meant to confuse, it's meant to interrupt!

One priest down, groaning on the floor, and then a few moments later the one casting spells clasps at his head him a pained noise and goes to a knee. Things aren't looking well for the priests. This makes the two still left standing fight that much harder. The one fighting with the sword controlling Bryce easily blocks the blow the teen aimed at him and feints with is khophesh so he can aim a kick at the teens chest in an attempt to knock him backwards.

The large crocodile lets out a deep growly roar sound and once more swings around with is tail at the tall Irish teen.

The foot hits Bryce in the chest and kicks him

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Bryce=physical Vs Fpriest=6

The foot hits Bryce in the chest and kicks him completely off of his feet. He lands on his back and looks at the opposing priest. "Help," he says not too shy yo admit his need. He does know that if he gives up, he will die. He swings his sword straight down at an angle almost impossible for a normal attack. His blade barely makes it past the defense and gives the priest a scratch.

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Ronan=physical Vs Crockpriest=6

< Ronan: Failure Crockpriest: Success

< Net Result: Crockpriest wins - Marginal Victory

As the large crocodile swings its tail at Ronan, the blond teen dodges just barely. The tail grazing across the front of his uniform. There's a blast of ice again from his right hand sending shards of ice towards the Werecroc, but as has been the case so far, he simply hasn't managed to so much as scratch the horrible beastie. "Come on ye silly beastie. Just hold still and we can just put a shard of ice to make you no long in our misery? That would be brill."

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Rain=physical Vs FPriest=6

< Rain: Good Success FPriest: Good Success

The fighting girl only takes a moment to make sure the priest is going to stay down before she turns to survey who is left. Priest or crocodile it starts to be a question and then Bryce is kicked and is asking for an assist. Decision is made before she even has time to debate. She is't worried that she is weaponless, weaponry isn't her only fighting skill as she has clearly shown. She is as just as serious when battling as she is at any other time so there is no banter from her. As he staggers back from the sword slash she grabs at him making an attempt to pull him away from the prone Bryce…the pair grapple and the guy doesn't get moved but his attention is on Rain now so there is that.

Schuyler is going to do his best to keep the mage down even as he sees his sister going to help Bryce. The last thing they need is magic cast on them as they try to take care of the two priests that remain. He does his best to keep up the mental blast to the mage's mind.

And now the priest is having to deal with a teen girl who seems to be faster than he expected. Everytime he goes to swing his khophesh at her she manages to not be there. She ducks, she weaves all in quick bursts of movement that show her years of sword and martial arts training. He is starting to get frustrated..could she be playing with him. Her expression seems to say so.

The croc roars again. It doesn't like the cold icy attacks being thrown his way, they aren't hitting him, but technically he is a lizard, which means cold blooded and reptiles don't like cold. The tail isn't working so it just does in to try to take a bite of Ronan's leg.

The priest locked in mental combat with Sky leans heavilt against the wall beads of sweat breaking on his face as he tries in vain to eject the mentalist from his head.

Bryce uses this break to struggle to his feet. He looks forward and is thankful that Rain is distracting and taking care of the priest. Remembering that they are there to search not fight, Bryce heads off towards to now vacant room. He makes a sign to Schuyler to indicate his intention in ASL.

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Ronan=physical Vs Crockpriest=6

< Ronan: Success Crockpriest: Good Success

< Net Result: Crockpriest wins - Marginal Victory

The croc very very nearly gets a bite out of Ronan's leg. It's only by making a cylinder of ice around his leg that he escapes a far worse fate. The trick manages to buy him just enough time to get himself out of harms way. "I'll take that as a no then? Really. I don't taste good. I've very stringy and not properly seasoned at all!" He says as he starts backing away from the beastie. "Why don't you chew on this instead?" He asks as he throws a spear of ice directly at the Werecroc but the gods are really not on his side right now as the spear barely misses the beast, only a little trail of snow flakes following after the cold spear mark its passing before it shatters on a wall.

Ronan's and the Crocs fight are a bit of a distraction for Rain "Ronan, it's a lizard, they get lethargic in the cold. Drop the temperature in here." with her attention briefly on her team mate the priest manages to dodge the blow aimed at him. Sky can probably sense it before she does, if he wasn't occupied at least. The mental split, and then the physical blurring as Rain becomes two people instead of just being one. Legion knows what's up, having the same memories as the original and moves into action, grapping at the priest and another grapple fight commences.

<FS3> Opposed Roll — Sky=Psychic Vs MPriest=3

< Sky: Good Success MPriest: Failure

< Net Result: Sky wins - Solid Victory

Schuyler's focus is mostly on the Mage at the moment, but grey eyes do glance about, noting Bryce's departure with a nod and noting Ronan's fight with the were-croc. He seems unsurprised when Legion shows up to help with the fight and there's another glare to the Mage-priest as he aims another mental blast at him. It's certainly a great way to relieve some pent up aggressions, especially since he can't really mentally blast other students at school.

The fighting priest is confused once more, two girls instead of one, its enough to get him grappled by Legion causing him to drop his sword. He is stronger though and he manages to get the other hand, twising her around so she is in a head lock tight enough to make it so she can't breath.

Sky finally wins his mental battle with the priest and with a final groan the priest falls overn unconscious.

Okay the Crocodile really hated taking a bite of a large chunk of ice, No more biting from him until his tongue isn't so frozen. He goes back to using his tail swinging around faster than one would expect from a large crocdile and sweeping it at Ronan's legs.

<FS3> Ronan rolls Thermal Manipulation: Success.

There is a resounding crack as the tail collides with Ronan's leg, followed by a very long string of Gaelic curses. He definitely isn't going to be walking very well from the way his leg looks at the moment. "I was tryin' ta avoid that in case Besa got affected too." He says through gritted teeth. That being said he's more than willing to do so now. He begins radiating a very intense cold off his skin. He manages to drop it rapidly enough for mist to start rising off of his flesh. It's not really as dramatic as he's done before.

Legion struggles against the priest but he is stronger than she is, and being unable to breath doesn't make the struggles easier. In a few moments she is passing out and the priest shoves her in the direction of Rain.

"Besa isn't even here…make it snow if you have too." Rain yells at him as she hurries to pick up one of the dropped khopeshes. She's had enough practice with Besa to be familiar with the weapon she can feel the moment that Legion passes out and she makes to strike at the priest only to have Legion shoved at her and she has to pull the swing.

<FS3> Rain rolls 2: Failure.

<FS3> Rain rolls Mind: Success.

The Crocdile is on the move again, but with the increasing cold its movements get sluggish and lethargic, it goes to swing its tail but it is more like dragged across the ground before it slumps down on its belly, the cold quickly sapping the energy from it.

The mental onslaught has the priest cringing and staggering back, hand flailing to keep his balance.

<FS3> Ronan rolls Thermal Manipulation: Good Success.

"Sorry! I know but… argh." Ronan says as he tries to put some weight on his obviously broken leg. The end result was a lot of pain but he does manage to begin limping away from the Crodile, while continuing to drop the temperature in the room. It's getting really frigid now to the point water was actually beginning to freeze in the air causing small little snow crystals to drift around in the room. "I'm trying but my leg hurts. This beastie got it rather good." He says as he leans against the wall.

<FS3> Rain rolls Power Swapping: Success.

<FS3> Rain rolls 6: Good Success.

<FS3> Rain rolls Magic Knowledge: Good Success.

As the priest staggers back from the mental attack of her brother Rain takes advantage of the distraction and goes on the attack. Her skills with a sword is quite good, especially against an unarmed man and she makes short work of him, quickly knocking him out.

Rain looks around for a moment and rushes to the priest that was going magic "Sky search with that brain and see if you can find the near dead priest. He should be in one of these rooms." hands are laid on the magical priest for a moment "Please let this work." she then hurries over to Ronan "If this works, you will be the second person I have healed with someone else's powers." little known fact, she has a secondary power, duplicating other people's "Please, please let this work." she lays hands on Ronan's legs, she doesn't ask like Besa would, she just does it. The difference between the two. She concentrates, pushing the magic and willing it to fix the break in Ronan's leg. There may be a sharp pain when the leg sets but that is short lived as the magic does its work.

Schuyler has no qualms about digging in the mage's head to get information on the nearly-dead priest who has the bit of Besa's heart. He walks back over to the fallen magic-user and crouches down beside him, just staring for a moment before he nods. «I know where he is.» He might have gleaned a little more information…or maybe shuffled a few things around, who knows? Maybe the mage will now have an affinity towards Bast rather than Sobek when he wakes up. «We should do this quickly.» He straightens and moves over to Ronan, offering a hand to help the other up once the healing is done. «Don't wear yourself out, Rain.»

"Thanks." Ronan says honestly,"But yes, do not be wearing yourself out to heal me. I can manage like this." He says as his leg gets healed. Yes there was a little cringe when the leg set itself but he wasn't going to yell just yet. "Should I bind it up in ice? Keep it like that for now?" He says looking at the werecroc as it lays on the ground in the cold. It was a lot of effort to keep the room this cold right now.

Having little experience with magic or healing Rain isn't sure how much magic is enough, so she just pours as much as she can until after a few moments she can sense that it is enough. Guess she learned a thing or two watching Besa heal, and healing him a few times. "I don't know. Try to walk on it. I'm not sure how all this magic stuff works." what a way to inspire confidence. As she talks her breath can be seen fogging in the cold air. Standing up she wobbles a moment before her balance is gained.

Sky knows so Rain knows, unless for some odd reason that knowledge is kept from her, which doesn't make sense. "Let's go.«< she lets Sky lead the way to the priests suite, Legion is drawn back into her and she graps her weapons and having them at the ready in case they meet resistance.

What resistance there is is little, only one priest left to guard him and he is dealt with quickly by the three of them.

And then the moment of truth, the old priest, looking more like a mummy still, than a human. He is barely alive the life support system he is hooked up to doing most of the work of keeping him alive. That is quickly unplugged by one of them and as the old mummy stops breathing the heart is removed, container found and handed to Ronan to keep chilled.

The White Witch must have been scrying, as soon as that is all done a portal opens where the suite door is and on the other side is the school, one just has to step through…
