Ares Dorm Hub
Lower than the rest of the ocean floor, the hub of Ares is sunking into the ground itself here. Windows overhead reveal the ocean remains upthere, but windows on the side show the natural rock of the ocean floor as well. The room curves, with circular cushioned couches offering views of the windows or the central HDTV at the center of the half-circle room. Along the longer outer wall, there are sporadic gas fires burning, providing the ideal of warmth to the room.

It was an interesting night of the spring fling and Annaliesa and Derek had spent the time together. It was morning though, on Saturday, and she's just stepping out of her room she shares with Felicia. Ok, maybe it's a bit after morning and pushing more towards midday. She's dressed casually in jeans and a shirt, a light hoodie, because it's still a little cooler in New Hampshire than it is where she comes from.

At least someone's gotten up a bit earlier. Having placed himself on one of the couches, Vinny is also dressed casually, as he's curled up a bit, with the sketchbook he usually makes drawings in. Humming to himself, he looks up, unable to hold back a grin as he sees Annaliesa stepping out of her room. "Looks like someone's been sleeping well, hmmm?" he remarks, a bit lightly now.

Annaliesa stifles a yawn against her hand though she's swept right out of that thought when she hears her brother. *Pouncetacklehug* Despite the fact he's drawing. Smack, right on his lap. Forget the fact he's younger than her, he's her brother! "Vinny!" The exclamation as well as the actions relay her pleasure in seeing him. "I may have stayed up a liiiitttlllee bit too late last night."

Managing to drop that sketchbook right in time, Vinny oofs a little at that incoming tackle. "Trying to break me in two?" he asks, rather lightly, as he hugs her, before he grins, "It might seem you did that, yes. But did you have fun? Because that's the important thing, right?" Another brief pause, before he adds, "Any plans for today?"

"Maybe in three, then I will have three brothers, but I'm not sure any could be better than you." Annaliesa leans in and kisses his cheek, because she's the older sister and he's got to suffer her attentions. Sliding off his lap, she sits beside him, an arm looped loosely around his shoulders, careful of his sketch book. "Want to go to the mainland? Mom and dad are supposed to be in this weekend sometime. We could go to one of the shops, there's a lot of them, or we could sit on the beach and you could sketch there. What do you think?"

Deftly, she did avoid the question on if she had fun last night or not.

Suffering her attentions is something he should be able to do. Besides, as the younger brother, Vinny knows that he'll find some way to get a little light-hearted revenge. "Ah yes. That sounds quite nice. I like going to the mainland," he replies, with a smile, before he adds, "But you didn't answer the question, Annie." See, he didn't miss that.

Because Vinny knows her too well. Annaliesa gives him an enigmatic smile, "I had so much fun. SO much fun." The look turns a little playful. "Because I was with Derek and because Derek is fun." Rising from the couch, she looks down at him, "Let's get over to the mainland, we can catch the ferry if we hurry. Unless you want to catch lunch in the cafeteria first?"

"I'm glad to hear that," Vinny replies, with a chuckle, before he gets to his feet again. "I'm sure we can find something to eat later. Catching the ferry is an excellent idea," he says, with a grin. Looking around, before he adds, "And it's always nice to try something not cafeteria food, right?" Not that he dislikes the cafeteria food, but change is good.

Change is certainly good and Annaliesa waits for him to get to his feet before scooping up his sketchpad. "Can I look through it this time?" Already headed for the door, walking slow enough that he can catch up. "So, Pizza, Chinese, sandwiches at the coffee shop?" There's plenty more, but those are the basics. "The pizza place is a lighthouse, right on the ocean."

Vinny grins, as he hears that, "Of course," he replies to the part about looking through the sketchbook, moving for the door as well. "A lighthouse, you say? Sounds like a lovely place." And maybe there's some good motives to sketch there as well, right?

"Oh good." Annaliesa remains holding the sketchbook for only a moment before offering it back to him. "I will look at it while we have pizza." She heads for the door and then the elevator to go topside. "I agree. There's libel to be some amazing views there too. How do you like it so far away from home?"

Vinny takes back the book as it's handed to him, with a smile. "Sounds good." Moving for the elevator as well, he shrugs a little. "It's a bit to get used to, but so far, it seems nice. A little cold, but nice. How about you?"

"Absolutely freezing." Annaliesa agrees whole heartedly, leading the way or walking beside him either way. "It's fun here, it's a little much sometime though. I saw someone casually walk out of their locker then pull a potted plant out of a little backpack. Was really odd."

Lighthouse Pizza
Arousing the senses, the aroma of fresh baked pizza is strong and the popular music that plays from a jukebox in the corner adds to the ambiance. Checked white and red tablecloths cover all of the tables and lining each of the walls are black covered booths. On each table there is a selection of crushed red pepper, Parmesan cheese, napkins, salt and pepper.
The floor is carpeted in muted tones, a dark green with varied other colors woven throughout. There is a counter for ordering togo orders and waitresses walk around in jeans and a t-shirt, the latter in blue with Lighthouse Pizza in white writing. The kitchen is behind the counter and a long, rectangular opening for the cooks to pass the food through. Furthest from the kitchen and entrance are the doors for the game room with many, many games and marked bathrooms for each gender off there.

Vinny chuckles as he hears that. "There's a few people with… interesting abilities around here, yes. But at least one doesn't have to hide who they are in a place such as this," he offers, before he goes quiet as they head over to the mainland.

"There are. You should meet Derek too, he's really a great guy." In typical Ares fashion though, he pushes the envelope sometimes. "He can fly." Once they hit the ferry then the mainland and head from the docks to the beach and shortly from there, to the Lighthouse Pizza, a still working lighthouse. Leading the way inside, she leans in, "We just can't talk about it all here, just like at home."

Vinny nods as he hears that, looking around as they step inside. "Oh wow…" he mutters at the aroma of the place. "Smells so good…" Nodding a bit at what his sister says, he smiles, "Just like at home," he replies, looking around once more.

Annaliesa reaches over to take his hand and she leads him to one of the tables, allowing the waitstaff to come over instead of going to the counter. It's nearer the larger windows with views of the beach outside that she finally has a seat, directing him to sit across from her. "It does smell so good in here. What sort of pizza do you want? My treat."

Looking out that window as he's led to the table, Vinny whistles a little. "Fantastic view too," he ofers, before he takes the seat he's directed to. Placing his sketchbook on the table, he looks out for a few seconds longer, before he looks back to his sister. "I'm not sure. Do they have one with beef and meatballs?" he asks, after a few moments of pause.

"I don't know. Maybe?" Annaliesa reaches for one of the menu's and sees the toppings that can be added. There's a happy nod and she hands over the menu to him. "Anything you want and I'll share with you." She reaches for his sketchbook then, and opens it. "Oh and a Sprite to drink for me." Assuming he was going to do the ordering for the both of them.

Taking the menu as it's handed over, Vinny looks through it rather carefully. "Let's see, there's one with some kind of marinated chicken and beef. That one sounds quite good…" Nodding as he hears her words about the Sprite, he orders that pizza, the Sprite and a Coca Cola for himself, before he looks out the window again. As for the sketchbook, it's mostly sketches of people, animals and a few landscapes, both from home and here. Not the highest quality drawings, but they've been improving with more practice.

Annaliesa does for sure look interested in the pizza he mentions, even looking up from the sketches to give an approving nod. "That sounds delicious." And she's hungry, "Did you see the shooting star last night? Derek and I noticed it. We even made a wish." She pages through the sketches, looking suitably impressed. When she comes to one of herself, but as a mermaid, she looks up with a smile. "When did you do this one?"

Vinny pauses as he hears that. "I missed a shooting star?" Sounding a bit disappointed, before he shrugs, "Well, maybe it will happen again some day. Hopefully." A brief pause at the mention of making wishes. "I hope you made a good wish." Pausing again as she comes to the mermaid drawing, he smiles, "A month or so before we left for here, I think. Do you like it?"

"I hope my wish comes true too." Annaliesa smiles at him, her expression content. "Maybe the next one, you can make a wish." She looks up as the drinks arrive, averting the drawing from the wait staff and only after they leave again does she comment. "Oh Vinny, this is so amazing. When did you get so good? I remember you drawing on the walls of the house, little stick figures." Not that their ages are too terribly far apart.

Vinny smiles, "Hopefully. But it's not that bad that I missed this one. I have no idea what wish I should have made." Smiling as the drinks arrive, he pauses as he hears the praise. "I still have a lot to improve, you know…" he says, before his cheeks redden a bitat th mention on him drawing on the walls, and he looks down to the table, briefly.

"Then maybe it's better that you didn't get this one. An unwished wish is the worst!" Of course Annaliesa is teasing him mildly. "Oh I don't know about improving really, You're really better than I remember since the last drawing I saw." She reaches for her drink and sips, "Your drawings on the wall were much better than mine."

Vinny chuckles as he hears that. "It is the worst, yes. If I had gotten to make a wish, it would have been a panic wish or something…" Taking a sip from his own drink, he goes quiet again for a few brief moments, before he adds, "One can always improve. Which is what I am planning on doing. Drawing more, and I will improve, right?"

It takes little time for the pizza to arrive and soon enough it does and is placed on the table between them along with two plates and silverware. Annaliesa doesn't immediately reach for anything, letting Vinny do that part. "I'm just glad you like to draw. You always get better, but you're already incredible."

Vinny smiles, "Thank you," he replies, before he looks to the pizza as it has arrived now. "Delicious…" he says, before he reaches for one of he slices. "The smell of the pizzas here, it almost makes me go insane…" he says, quietly.

"Are you going to be okay in here or should we take it to go out at the beach?" Annaliesa asks her brother, all concerned for him. She knows him and his urges and all, for the most part. "It could be an adventure."

"I'll be fine," Vinny replies, after a few brief moments of pause. "Let's look at it as an exercise in self-control, right?" Offering a quiet smile now.

"Only if you're sure." Annaliesa stll looks concerned, but she does serve herself a slice of the pizza, then another, before leaving the remainder of the pie for her brother. "I guess, I just don't want you to be uncomfortable." She makes sure that the sketch book is well away from the food and drinks.

Vinny smiles, "I know. Thanks," he replies as he hears that, before he starts eating. Slowly, since he's making sure he can really enjoy the taste of it. "Wonderful," he says, closing his eyes momentarily to really experience the taste.

Annaliesa watches him enjoying his food and she smiles when he closes his eyes. "The cafeteria food isn't bad at all either. I think the bacon at breakfast is most popular."

Vinny smiles, opening his eyes again before he continues eating, a bit faster now than that first bite. At the mention of the cafeteria food, he nods, "It's quite good, I think. But it's good to be able to come here and try something else every now and then." A brief grin, before he adds, "And of course the bacon is most popular. Bacon tends to be that, right?"

"I never knew I liked bacon so much. I'm so used to just eating seafood." Cause Annaliesa has spent as much time out of water as in. "I can't wait until it warms up here and I can go swimming. I miss swimming. I think I am withering away."

Vinny grins, "See, that's one of the good things about coming here. You've managed to widen your taste for food." It's offered a bit lightly, in between some bites of the glorious pizza, before he nods, "I know you're missing it. Hopefully it'll be warm enough soon." A brief grin, before he adds, "Wouldn't want you to wither away."

"I have," Annaliesa confesses with a smile. "I found I like bacon and pizza and there's a coffee drink from the coffee shop that's pretty amazing." It takes her little time to finish off both slices of her pizza. "So want to meet here with mom and dad and Derek this weekend? Maybe tomorrow?" (More like Monday RL) She looks down at herself and laughs. "I am in no danger of withering away. Much like you."

"A coffee drink? Which one?" Sounding a bit curious, Vinny takes a sip from his drink, before he grins. "And meeting here with mom and dad and Derek sounds like an excellent idea. I'm sure mom and dad will really like the view here as well." A brief pause and a wide grin at that last part, "You're not calling me fat, are you?"

Annaliesa gives him an absolutely innocent look. "Oh, no, Vinny. I am not calling you fat anymore than I would am calling myself fat." She looks out at the view again, "Oh good, I am really looking forward to everyone meeting him. He's really special to me."

Vinny raises his eyebrow a bit lightly at that innocent look, but he just grins. "That's good. I'm sure we're all looking forward to meeting him as well," he replies, before he continues eating. "This chicken is delicious," he remarks, in between chewing.
