Place of Birth: | Bellingham, WA |
Age: | 17 |
Aliases: | Gracie. |
Origin: | Inherited, generational. |
Grade: | Junior |
Team: | Athenian League |
Dating: | Constantine Ashford |
Powers and Abilities: | Forced Shift (Anger), Rampage, Enhanced Senses, Strength Boost. |
Portrayed by: | Alicia Vikander (young) |

Grace was born into a 'curse', which is in fact an offshoot of lycanthropy that requires no moon span to shift but rather, emotions. Neither of her parents are powered, though her father is in fact a 'carrier' (no powers, but he was a generation that was skipped by the 'curse'.)
These powers have since activated in a devastating way and cast Grace far out of her comfort zone and into this new life in Shady Cove.
Forced Shift - Grace, when pushed into a rage state, forcibly shifts into a fox-like/wolfish hybrid-humanoid which stands about six feet tall. It is an offshoot of lycanthropy but unlike a were transformation, Grace does not require a moon span to shift. She can only attain this form when her rage peaks; she cannot shift voluntarily. In this form she acquires heightened strength, speed and an almost mindless level of anger in which she attacks targets consistently. Until she is stopped, be it by intervention of her wearing herself out, she lays siege to most anything in her path.
Rampage - Think… Hulk'ish. Once attaining her 'rage' form, subsequently rolling this skill decides the level of Grace's mayhem. The stronger the roll, the more chaotic her onslaught. Grace does not remember much of what she does in this state and is usually left confused.
Manifest Claws - The one tie to her other form that Grace can utilize voluntarily. With concentration, she can manifest a ghastly set of claws on one or both hands with which to attack foes. Durable, and obscenely sharp.
Pain Tolerance - Grace can withstand an immense amount of pain before graying out, or falling unconscious.
Sense Fear - A tiny shred of psychic ability, almost like an off-shoot of Empathy. Grace can faintly sense specific fear or anxiety responses in others, and this can sometimes 'egg on' her other form.
Enhanced Senses - Strong as a girl, intense when morphed. As 'herself', Grace enjoys potent boosts to all of her senses, but especially those of Smell, Taste, Touch and Sound. While Sight is significant, the remaining four are incredibly honed. She experiences her world on a whole other level; this can be a good or a bad thing.
Strength Boost - Used as a girl, Grace can draw forth the energies involved in her shifting and empower herself physically. For the span of 15-20 mins (perhaps 2-3 rounds), depending upon her level of exertion and urgency, Grace can go on to lift and/or throw objects nearly quadruple her weight. She can only manage this once a day, and is left exhausted after.
Baking + Cake Decorating - Grace's uncle is a lifelong baker, and having spent much time with him — coupled with career-prep courses back in her old school in Belligham, Grace knows her way around a kitchen in this regard. She is both an adept baker-in-training, who could do well to explore an apprenticeship somewhere.. and if she boasts one vein of creativity, she is excellent at cake decorating and some pastry work. She is very passionate in this area of expertise; she wishes to make this her career.
Barista - A new hire to the Mug Shot Coffee Shop, Grace has beginner's knowledge of coffee art.
Acrobatics - Grace is aware of her body and what it's capable of… she's not just good at punching, kicking and running! She is flexible and able to perform some pretty neat looking moves, along with the execution of acute balancing.
Jogging - Grace is fit, and she loves a good run. REALLY loves it. In her spare time, you can count on seeing her running around the school grounds and beyond. Her endurance allows her to go for quite some time without tiring.
Baking-Fu - Grace, despite her age, has the makings of a phenomenal baker. She loves every single aspect of the art, even the most mundane tasks. Baking calms her mind, it actually helps keep her, and others, safe.
Blackout Temper - When pushed to that pivotal level of anger — and it catches quickly, despite Grace's attempts to be placid — the poor girl has a breaker-switch that gets pulled. The moment she shifts, Grace is unaware and cannot control herself (at this time) and cannot remember a thing after. This terrifies her.
Cow Obsession - She loves cows. Everything about them. Especially commonplace black-and-white blotched dairy cows. Love love love. Too bad she loves beef too. It's a hard life. Guarded with her life: an astounding collection of cow-themed bric'a'brac that has she either finds in town, or has shipped to her by her uncle.
Reluctantly Powered - While there are a couple of cool things that she does regularly and appreciates, Grace hates being a threat. She is not happy about the fact that there is something about her that is incredibly unpredictable and dangerous; she hates that 'black space' that occurs when such powers are triggered. The danger that she poses and the holes in her memories as a result are a source of great insecurity for Grace.
- Any and all free time Grace has, she's fated to spend it in the kitchen at Winbarry once she gets comfortable. She loves to bake, and is always looking for guinea pigs.
- Grace ain't a she-jock, but she sure loves to run. She's That Girl running laps during gym class with militant intensity.
- Enjoys any variant of home ec. / cooking class.
- Wanna catch her and try to calm her down when anger catches her? Go for it!
More to come.
I. Preamble
"Grace? Gracie? Are you there, honey? You don't have to say a word.. just listen to me, ok? You can listen to me and you can trust me. It wasn't your fault.."
"……"
"I don't have long.. I'm trying to get things figured out as quickly as possible. I have some connections and they'll know what to do. But you have to trust me and do as I say, what they say."
"… *hic* …."
"I know it's frightening. You're a good girl and I promise, promise.. millions and millions of promises.. that this is for the best. You're not a bad person; THEY were bad people for not telling you sooner. For keeping this from you."
"… I.."
"I know. You don't have to say much more, just try to keep calm and have faith in me. You were only defending yourself. Sit tight, for just a few days, and this will all make sense. I love you, Gracie."
".. I love you too, uncle.."

II. Before
Grace Maria Halleson was born in Bellingham, WA, the only child to a 'power couple': a business tycoon father and the kept, emotionally unavailable woman who would eventually become her mother. Children do not ask for the lot in life into which they are born and Grace couldn't have known that while her parents were unpowered, 'something' skipped a generation and found it's way into the body and mind of the Grace upon her very conception.
Kept hidden were details of a grandfather, and a great-great grandmother even farther back, each afflicted with a powerful 'curse'. Both met ugly ends and surely, this day and age, such a curse (power) had to have fizzled out.
Not the case, but hardly a concern until Grace entered her teenage years. Her lonely childhood was filled with all of the vices and entertainments that a girl could have hoped for but devoid of that familial love. She was so accustomed to her 'oddities' — the heightened senses, the wonderful strength in her body as she grew — that she passed them off as normal.
Grace channeled her loneliness into a fierce desire to succeed, and from her late preteen years onwards she cultivated a love for baking. This was done not at the side of her parents but with her beloved uncle Vincent; the brother to her callous father. It had been from this man that the girl received all of the warmth that she could have hoped for.
Little did she know, this uncle was a minor Super with heightened senses not too unlike her own… and he knew the truth. Vince Halleson watched Grace carefully in those days; became her keeper while her parents cared less. Grace threw herself into her studies… but then, the 'incident' occurred.
=
III. After
Historically, teenagers always did stupid things. Grace, in celebrating her fifteenth birthday, was invited out to a houseparty. It wasn't long until the party was crashed and some nasty drugs found their way into peoples' drinks. Grace was one of the unlucky recipients of a spiked drink and the unwanted, amorous attentions of a peer who thought they had the upper hand.
Push came to shove, 'no' wasn't enough, and it was as if an entirely different being came to the forefront of Grace's mind. Rage: pure, pulsing, vitriolic and utterly vicious rage that blacked her vision as a 'human' girl and when she came to, it was her uncle who was speeding her away from the scene of a gruesome incident. All Grace knew at the time was that her head was pounding, her body ached, clothing was torn asunder.. and the weariness was too powerful to bear. She went on to sleep for a solid day, unknowing of the news that had begun to permeate the city.
Devastation to a house in an affluent part of town; a group of teenagers horrified and addled as a result; an individual who didn't understand 'no', found eviscerated and thoroughly dead in the savaged bedroom. There had been talk throughout the other partygoers of a 'horrible howling, roaring sound', of destruction, and the victim's awful screams.
Days would follow, and speed was of the essence. Knowing of what happened at that houseparty, Vince Halleson saw fit to finally reach out to his connections. Despite the tragedy which had befallen Coral Springs, it would be across the country that he would send his beloved, terrified niece in hopes of her avoiding the ugliness which resulted in the 'awakening' of her powers. She had to be kept far away.
Enrolled late into the school year, in January of 2018, Grace would hopefully come to learn about her powers — not a curse at all — and how best to control them.
Full Moon Magic - Not quite magic, but when the cycle culminates into a full moon whatever moods Grace experiences at the time are heightened. It's as if the 'beast' within exists even closer to the surface, heeding the call.
Intense - Especially where baking is concerned. When doing something that she knows and knows well, Grace devotes the entirety of her concentration to it. Depending upon the nature of the interruption, she can sometimes be left annoyed when she is sidetracked unexpectedly.
Guarded - Grace has the whole gamut of emotions, but she's hard-pressed to dole out those that are considered 'affectionate'. She is incredibly shy where affection is concerned: saying and acting on how she feels is done with a degree of reservation. She truly doesn't mean ill by it, she's just afraid of hurting others!
Instinctive - Since the awakening of her powers, Grace has begun to experience — mostly at inopportune times — another 'side' to her personality. There is a 'wolfish' side to her that arises in certain circumstances: for example, someone horning in on her meal may result in an almost involuntary snarl! People running in fear, too, sometimes send her awareness into overdrive. Moments preceding great danger, too, fill the girl with an almost animalistic degree of anxiety and readiness. She obeys authority (ie. Alpha types) without question.
Loyal - Earn her trust, whether as family, a friend or her significant other… Grace will die for you. Everything is done for 'the greater good' of her loved one(s), even beyond her own common sense and sense of self-preservation. In turn, if she is hurt or deceived, Grace feels it deeply.
More to come.

Annalee Shaw (Faculty) "Brilliant head cook… I'm so excited that she will let students help out. I hope she doesn't mind if I experiment some with baking, during spares. It's really touching how she remembers everyone's favorite meals…" |

Farrell Halleson (Father; Project Manager, Unpowered) A strict, money-driven man who has earned substantial wealth… but on the flipside no rapport with his daughter. Farrell had shown love to Grace, growing up, by gifting her and remaining as emotionally absent as possible. When 'the incident' happened he handed the whole mess over to his odd brother without a backward glance, not wanting his family name to be blighted… even by a daughter who needed him. |

Elena Halleson (née Miller) (Mother; stay-at-home / 'kept' woman; Unpowered) If there is anyone whose footsteps Grace wishes to avoid walking in, it's those of her mother. She 'cares' for the woman and loves her, deep down, but certainly does not love her manner. Elena Halleson married into money and savors the glamorous lifestyle and while her husband made himself unavailable through work, she had done so simply by being caught up in the glamour and pampering of it all. Elena sought to be more of a friend to her daughter as she grew, and that went over like a lead balloon…. especially after the incident. |

Vincent Halleson (Uncle; pastry chef; Minor Super. (Resembles: Jim Caviezel)) The sun in Grace's sky, and the man who saved her. The younger brother of Farrell, Vincent hadn't received the devastating powers that his niece had been saddled with at birth, but yet boasts a small array: strong empathy, heightened senses. These 'eccentricities', paired with lifestyle and career choices that contrast completely to those of his family, have made him out to be a bit of a black sheep. Vincent and Grace keep in touch frequently via calling, Skype/Facetime/etc, as he remains in Bellingham and had been the one to send Grace to Coral Springs. He is happily married and secure in his life, working as a pastry chef in a highly reputed hotel. His unpowered husband works as a care aide for elderly individuals suffering with dementia. |
![]() |
Gun Halleson (née Seonu) (Uncle by marriage; care aide, unpowered. (Resembles: Ji Jin-Hee)) Hailing from South Korea, Gun came to the States when he was twelve to embark upon a new life with his family. The eldest son with a younger sister following him, he enjoyed a stable upbringing though it had taken him some time to 'come out'. Not long after he met Vincent Halleson, a couple of years his senior, and the two hit it off immediately. Now married and living together in Bellingham, WA, Gun works with elderly as a care aide. He, too, is a touchstone of sanity and love in Grace's world. |

Alvin Halleson (Powered Grandfather; deceased. Entry meant for the sake of player reference. c_C; )) The most 'recent' carrier of the altered lycanthropy up until Grace's birth, father of Farrell Halleson. His is a history that is covered up copiously, almost obsessively. Don't let the high-flying, moneyed lifestyle of his son fool you: Farrell Halleson (Grace's dad) was born in Georgia and couldn't get away fast enough. Alvin lived until a ripe old age of sixty-one, and then he went and had his head blown off when his powers (the forced shift) went awry. It's not spoken of often, but there's a huge part of this tale that is being kept under wraps. |

Loretta Seawright (Powered Great-Great-Grandmother; deceased. Entry meant for the sake of player reference. c_C; )) The generation prior to Alvin's to carry 'the curse'. For a time Loretta enjoyed a fairly simply lifestyle, having remained 'normal' enough to be taken to earth to birth a few kids and raise them into adulthood. When the time came in which she had been introduced to her terrifying powers, Loretta actually managed to hone her mind to control them.. to a reasonable degree. However the late 1700s weren't kind to 'strange' women. Despite the Witchcraft Act of 1735, renegade witch-hunters could not understand why Loretta never fell ill or managed to break 2x4s with her bare hands, and burnt her at the stake. By then her adult children were cast to the four winds. |

Kenneth Sadler ('The Incident') The Senior boy who spiked Grace's drink and attempted to compromise her, during a house party. It was at this time that Grace, in her horror and anger, had her full powers awaken. The result was the complete evisceration of Kenneth and the rampage throughout his parents' house, sending teenagers running in terror. Grace does not quite remember the exact moment in which she killed the boy, though snippets of blood and his name arise on occasion in her nightmares. Present day she knows she did something to kill him, and many measures are being taken to see to it that the entirety of the ghastly experience do not become known to her. Kenneth Sadler is the skeleton in Grace's closet. |

A girl came in with something she killed, outside! A huntress! Things were worked out though and the girl, Janessa's her name, appears to have some adjusting to do not only to the school but the times. Somehow I don't feel q-quite so out of place." |
