"Power is dangerous. It attracts the worst and corrupts the best."
During the 2008 commissioning of the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Alexandra was having a tour with her father Matthias when the unthinkable happened. In an unpublicized accident, Matthias and Alexandra were both trapped inside one of the tunnels when the power unexpectedly surged. In desperation Matthias pushed Alexandra into the nearest cover: an unshielded maintenance alcove but he was bombarded by composite particles. Miraculously both father and daughter survived, but not unchanged.
The particle irradiation not only turned Matthias into the dangerous supervillain Nucleon, but also gave Alexandra her new powers.
Power Set: Electromagnetic Manipulator
Energy : Alexandra can shoot lightning bolts from her hands, and even her eyes if she wants to. Even at her current power levels she can generate enough voltage to kill a person. She can also set up a static field around herself as protection.
Physical : Her control over electricity also grants her a lesser level of control over magnetic fields. Metallic objects can therefore be controlled and used as weapons or shields.
Electrical Field : She can generate an electric field that allows her to extend lightning out in a storm to stun up to a dozen or so people, or zap up to 3-6 with at half strength. She can affect electrical items in a block radius, dampen power a little in a building, completely drain electrical power or cause a power surge in a single house.
Electrical Manipualtion : : Drain or boost energy. For each dot in this skill, Alexandra can multiple power output to a single source or appliance by 3 times. The larger the affected area is (and therefore more items), the less surge she can cause to them all.
Magnetic Manipulation : Alexandra can lift up to 1/2 ton tops with effort, but smaller objects are easier to lift and control. She can do one hand worth of dexterity with small enough metal objects (typing, writing on a steamy mirror, breaking small things, picking up small objects with the metal you manipulate, etc.
Magnetic Imprint : Magnetic Imprint: Alexandra can read lingering magnetic fields on objects, and is able to wipe disks or steal information from them by pulling off the imprint and transfefring to something.
Scion of two prominent European families, Alexandra is the daughter of two famous parents: her mother is Ava Aeschelman, the gadgeteer superheroine Pulsar and CEO of German science-tech firm Concentrix International, and her father is Matthias von Zeiss, the powerful supervillain Nucleon, walking engine of destruction and lethal radiation.
Following a Hadron Collider accident that led to her father becoming Nucleon, and subsequently her parents' "separation", Alexandra became aware of her ability to control electromagnetic fields. Because she was so young when these powers manifested, Alexandra mother developed a suppression device to contain these newfound powers until Alexandra was old enough to receive training, which began in earnest when she turned twelve.
This was also the time when Alexandra first encountered Mabel in a Concentrix oceanography lab, where she demanded and secured Mabel's release from the installation. The pair enrolled at Coral Springs but at the end of the first year Alexandra mysteriously dropped out, leaving behind Mabel to continue the next school year on her own. Evidently Alexandra's mother Ava dropped by the school over summer and had a private discussion with the dean, but what they discussed is not known.
Having grown up in an environment of wealth and prestige, Alexandra has only known private schools, high society, business elites and captains of industry; she acts mature beyond her years in polite company, but possesses an upper-class snobbishness that comes with her upbringing, a quality that can be off-putting to many.
On the positive side, Alexandra is extremely organized, analytical and efficient, which are all a result of her upbringing. On the other hand, she tends to be behavior-blind, especially when she believes the people she's dealing with are of lesser intellect.
OOC: The player is friendly though!
